so here we go bluebird, it was bright out. the sun was shining. everyone was out running around and having an amazing time. playing around with each other. with other bands. with the crew members. it was like a huge day off. the world was working at a normal pace as adonis climbed off his bus and began walking towards the entrance to the tour grounds. his eyes were stuck on each step that he took before he looked up and began watching the view in front of him and the scenes around him. he felt as if the rest of the world has begun running in slow motion as he kept up his normal pace. he sighed heavily and decided that instead of going to the bar like he’d planned on doing, he would find somewhere calming and quiet to sit and think. so when he walked out of the gates separating the tour from the rest of the world, he turned the opposite way of the city and just walked on.
adonis walked on with his head down, no particularly focused or thinking about anything. just enjoying the good feeling he had within him. he was calm, relaxed and for the first time in a very long time, carefree. he didn’t want to ruin it by going out to do something crazy and then have it ripped from him in the form of a fight or a security guard or a friend who thought maybe he’d had enough. so he’d go and enjoy the feelings, and let them just be in him until the time where he’d have to go back to forms and paperwork and running around after jayde and the rest of the band with their stupid shit. adonis stopped himself from groaning and smiled instead, thinking of the fact that even if they were shitty people, they were at least good artists – and he was the one that was able to let the world know that. and again, he was back in his happy place.
the young Irishman walked on for a while until he came to an open field that was covered in flowers and spread wide opened to the sun. adonis took a very deep breath and walked into the field. figuring this the best place to lay back, watch the clouds, and think of all the good going on in his life at the moment. as he sat down in the grass and flowers, he laid back and rested his head on his hands. another sigh and he smiled. already, things were looking good. all the most important paperwork was done. his band seemed to be sober and enjoying themselves with the rest of the touring bands and crew. he’d just spent a night and full day with, unexpectantly, cadi mccarthy – that had turned out to be extremely fun and kind of made him… feel things. good things, of course. he’d even been able to write a song during the downtime he had before leaving the bus. it was a good day. and hopefully it would stay as such. adonis closed his eyes and smiled up at the sun, letting himself get drowned in its warmth.

Lorelai was normally a very social woman. She loved everything about the human race as a whole, from its’ diversity to just its’ beauty in general. She loved to be around people and to talk to people and to see them smile and laugh. A lot of people she spoke to seemed so bitter about society. She didn’t understand it. Everyone within the human race made mistakes. Everyone. It was just that some people made worse mistakes than others- and those were the people that were disliked, or thrown in prison, or some of them ended up as victims of someone else’s mistake. Everyone made mistakes. And sometimes, those mistakes influenced their personality, and made them upset at the world. At least, that was how she viewed things- she believed there was a good person in everyone. Some people just didn’t have the ability to bring that side out. And whether or not that was true or bull shit didn’t matter, because ignorance was truthfully bliss and it was this belief that kept her happy and understanding. It was why she focused on the good portions of someone’s personality as opposed to the bad. Because everyone had flaws, and everyone made mistakes, but that didn’t mean that anyone was truthfully a bad person.
But sometimes, Lorelai needed some time to herself. She supposed that was true of everyone; no person could spend twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week in the company of another. At one point in time, the desire for some solitude was bound to become overwhelming, and she supposed that it was healthier to take some time to herself now rather than wait until she got sad. And she had the opportunity (everyone was out occupying themselves, so she wouldn’t be missed) so earlier that morning, she’d slipped out of the confines of the tour site and set off in search of somewhere quiet.
She’d found the field around midday and took refuge, planting herself right in the middle of it. She’d zonked out for God knows how long- but the sun was warm and it was beautiful and the ground was too comfortable to resist. All she knew was that when she finally came-to, it was still bright out (and relatively hotter) but just as nice. She checked the time on her phone and, pleased to know that she probably didn’t actually have to return to camp for another six or so hours, resolved that a walk might just do.
Lorelai stood, brushing off some dirt and grass from her dress and out of her hair, before twisting around to see if she was still alone. She wasn’t. Her teeth sank harshly into her lower lip, her hand coming up to rest atop her head as she attempted to figure out what to do. He looked familiar. Oh, right. She’d seen him around before, and she’d talked to him in the chat room. Adonis, she was fairly certain his name was. But- oh no, what if he’d seen her? If he’d noticed her, it would be rude of her to just continue on as though he wasn’t there, or to leave without saying ‘hello’. And she was staring at him, so that was another issue, she supposed. But on the other hand… What if he didn’t want her to come over? What if he was looking for some alone time, just like her? There were so many things possibilities and she didn’t know what to do. Maybe he hadn’t seen her. He was kind of laying down. But at the same time, he probably saw her when he came, right? Or no? She didn’t know. This was too big of a dilemma.
Finally figuring out what to do, Lore took a deep, nervous breath and walked in his direction, casually (but nervously) sitting down next to him. She stretched out and tucked one hand beneath her head, though turned so she could look at him. “Hi,” she greeted, then winced, “It’s lovely out, isn’t it?” It then struck her just how… Stupid she really was. He probably thought she was an idiot. And weird. Her stomach twisted into a knot and she sat up, awkwardly fumbling with a blade of grass. “S-s-sorry,” she stuttered, shaking her head, “I… Well, I mean, I s-saw you and I r-recognized you from, uh, the t-tour and we’ve, uhm, s-s-spoken and everything and I just… I guess… I thought I’d say… Hi. But if you want to be alone, just t-tell me and I’ll, uhm, leave. It’s no problem. I should have… Asked before sitting down.” Putting a hand to her temple, she shut her eyes, mentally kicking herself in the ass. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

so here we go bluebird, adonis hadn’t expected anybody else to be around; he didn’t look around much just sat down and started to enjoy the bit of alone time he`s have today. then he heard the sound of steps coming closer to him. he frowned slightly, his eyes still closed, hoping like all hell that this wasn’t somebody coming to try and ruin the good day he already had. then the walking stopped, and there was a small thump on the ground near him. adonis finally opened his eyes and looked over to where the sounds had come from to find a very nice looking girl. he put his hand up to shield his face for a moment before breaking out a big smile. “hello there.” he said. he unshielded his face and lay back again. “it is. extremely so. I have to remember to visit florida a bit more. the weather is awfully nice.” he responded. the girl sat up again and adonis looked at her again, before sitting up too, confused at her apology. he listened and then smiled wider when she finished. “don’t worry about it, lorelai.” he laughed lightly after acknowledging that he remembered her and her name. “honestly, it’s nice to have the alone time – especially with a crowd like the one we`re both forced to live around for the next few months or so. but equally as nice to share some quiet time with somebody else who appreciates it.” he gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “please, enjoy this with me. it`d be nice to have light conversation right here under the sun in the middle of this otherwise empty field. don`t you think?” he asked before removing his hand and laying back down as he was, this time with his eyes open.
he was a nice guy. to say the least. adonis always tried to be polite and nice. of course, it didn`t always work that way because he, like any normal person, had a temper. and he had moments when he wasn’t in the mood to be polite. when he was sick of being polite little adonis jay rhodes. but today, right now? he was perfectly fine with being polite. he knew lorelai to be polite. he’d actually gotten a chance to speak with her in the tour’s chatroom and they bonded over peanut butter from the moment it was mentioned. the thought of that made doni grin. he turned his head and looked over at lorelai. “i tried the peanut butter and oreos thing you suggested.” his grin grew wider. “it was pretty amazing. I must say, that was a pretty great idea. I might just become addicted to the combination.” adonis laughed some. “where’d you learn about that one from? because i`ve never in my life heard about it. i`ve had peanut butter and bananas – which was awesome. peanut butter and celery – which I didn’t exactly like. and… i`ve had a peanut butter, banana, and bacon sandwich. which happens to have been the favorite sandwich of elvis pressley.” adonis looked over at lorelai and laughed. “i wouldn’t have known that if my dad wasn’t such a big fan of the man, though.” a wide smile stretched across his face. “so, i`ve talked a bit much so i`ll let you go ahead and tell me where you learned about the peanut butter and oreos.” he finished, happily waiting for her to reveal the secret origin of the amazing combination.

Lorelai, who had already poised herself ready to get up for a speedy getaway, breathed a sigh of relief as Adonis stressed that he didn’t mind that she was there, and in fact, would perhaps enjoy some light conversation on that sunny Florida day. From what she had gathered, Doni was a sweet boy. Friends with a lot of nice people and really kind himself. That was to be expected, of course- she hadn’t met one ill-motivated person on tour yet. Perhaps misguided, yes, but never out right bad. She’d never met anyone bad. Just people who made bad decisions and got mixed up in the wrong situations. Doni just seemed nice, though, so she didn’t think he was lying for the sake of being polite when he invited her to stay. She was always up for the opportunity to make a new friend, and she sort of thought she’d made his acquaintance already in the tour chat room, when they had the conversation about oreos and peanut butter. The combination was scrumptious and she loved turning other people onto the idea. It was something that everyone should try- and so far, everyone had liked it, except Rene, who refused to even try it and it sort of made her feel bad for the whole situation in the first place. But at least other people liked it, right? Not everything was for everyone.
She murmured a “it is really pretty out” as she laid back beside him, and almost as though he were reading her mind, he started going on about peanut butter oreos. Lori tucked an arm beneath her head and stretched out, resting her other hand on top of her stomach. She let him talk, her smile inching wider and wider as he did, and silently giggling in all of the appropriate spots. When he finished, she casted him a sidelong glance before closing her eyes again. “Never worry about talking too much with me. Really. If you’ve got somethin’ to say, say it, because I like listening. I talk a lot, though, so… You can always tell me to shut up if it comes to that.” She took a deep breath as she tried to remember everything else he’d said. “Elvis Presley’s favorite sandwich is a lovely thing to know. He was a pretty dapper guy, I think. Maybe I’ll try that- I love bananas and peanut butter and sandwiches. And sort of bacon, too. Not my favorite, but I like it.”
He wanted to know where she got the idea for the combination, and she bit her lip, trying to figure out how much of the story to include. It wasn’t that thrilling of a tale, but still, any memory including Elliot was painful to talk about- even if she did bring him up often. No one aside from her band, who had to pull her out of her rut so long ago, knew what happened. Or who Ellie really was. Lorelai cleared her throat, the smile on her face never faltering, though her stomach churned uncomfortably. “Elliot showed me. Well, actually, he made me try it. His little sister made him watch The Parent Trap with him- the one with Lindsey Lohan- and I guess there was something about it in there. So he tried it and liked it and ended up showing up at my bedroom window at eleven o’clock at night, with oreos and peanut butter, insisting I try it.” She grinned a little wider at the memory of Ellie’s enthusiasm, taking a deep breath.”We pretty much sat in my room all night, eating oreos and peanut butter. It was just one of those nights, y’know? Where nothing really spectacular happened- except this discovery, obviously- but it was still one of the greatest nights ever. I don’t know. That’s how I discovered them. I’m glad you like them, though.”

so here we go bluebird, adonis turned towards lorelai for a moment, watching her as she told him about elliot and how he’d taught her about the oreos and peanut butter combination. he smiled slightly and nodded. “those are the kind of nights that you always want to keep close to your heart.” he said, thinking back on a few nights he’d always keep close to his heart. if anybody knew about keeping memories, it was adonis. there were memories he kept that he couldn’t get rid of even when he wanted to. his head and heart were full to the brim of memories of mia – his ex-girlfriend – and he’d always had the worst time trying to push them away when they jumped up to the top of his brain. “I do like them, though.” he said, pushing his hands back under his head and crossing his feet at the ankles. adonis closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I think it’s cool that you discovered them from something so meaningful. I can’t exactly think of any event like that where I brought home an awesome recipe…” he laughed lightly then lay quietly, letting the sun drown him. it felt good with the conversation and the sea of memories flowing in his mind.
after a while, he took a deep breath and peeked over at lorelai. “so, who’s elliot? best friend? a boyfriend back home?” he wasn’t trying to ask her just to hit on her or anything. he was just curious. he figured it must have been somebody extremely important to have it imprinted into her mind for such a long time. he opened his eyes completely and began to stare at the sky, trying to keep the memories of mia at bay. “did he teach you any other amazing recipes or odd combinations?” adonis asked, soon after his last questions. at this point, he’d felt it would be better to keep himself talking some so that he could focus and think about the words coming from his mouth rather than the images and voice-overs of mia. he just wished this method would keep him going until the conversation picked up pace.

Lorelai smiled slightly in agreement. Most of her memories of Elliot were rather insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Aside from the milestones of their relationship, her head was filled with times they’d spent cuddled up in her bedroom, or playing in the park, or those times they’d cook dinner for their families just for the fun of it. Those were the times she cherished more than any other. Those were the moments that kept her up at night, longing for just one last hug. One more smile. Anything. Just to have him back. It was like everything that happened reminded her of Ellie- of the guilt she had that he was dead, of the fact that she couldn’t stop him. They kept her up at night no matter how hard she fought them. ”I have a lot of those memories,” she commented, closing her eyes. ”Sometimes, it’s scary what different things remind me of. Like, right now, I’m thinking of the time that Ellie and I spent all day having a picnic in the park and we got really sunburnt, so we went through cuddling withdraws because it hurt too much. And then when we were all better, he came over to my house and we just cuddled all day and watched movies.” It was then that she realized her eyes were getting watery, and she sniffled a little, trying to keep her emotions at bay. ”I think that’s why I love hugs so much. Because they remind me of him, if I close my eyes and pretend enough.” And she just liked hugs. But still.
She frowned when he further inquired about Elliot. ”He’s both. Or.. Was both, I guess.” Lore swallowed harshly, squeezing her eyes even tighter shut. ”I mean… We were best friends since we were five, and… When we got older, we got together, but… He’s not around anymore.” She rolled onto her side so she was facing Adonis, although her attention was focused on a blade of grass closer to her knees. ”I miss him. A lot. He was a great guy.” She didn’t want to keep talking about it, but she knew the rest of the day was going to be bad. It always was whenever she talked about Ellie. She just… Didn’t want to cry, that was all. Lorelai bit her lip, rubbing her eye in an almost childlike manner with a curled fist. ”I learned a lot of neat things from him, though.”
